The Millennia NSEQ2 shares the same sensation EQ as the STT1 Origin Mic Preamp channel strip. In this demonstration we take you through the tube and transformer coloration capabilities, as we engage and disengage these on a Jazz Grand Piano recording. We then demonstrate the capability of the EQ in a surgical fashion, by taking out some offending frequencies in a Baritone Sax. Give us a call to discuss either of these powerful products from Millennia media that we rely on in our professional work here at Sound Pure Studios. The Millennia HV-3R Microphone Preamplifier is remotely controlled using the ProTools HD Mic Preamp integrated feature, included standard within Avid Digidesign ProTools. The preamp is demonstrated acoustically, and in the on-screen ProTools demo. This powerful capability enables the Millennia HV-3r a fabulous neutral and clean sounding preamp, which is able to bring out the subtleties of the instrument, room, and microphone, to be remotely controlled by any protocols workstation. The HV-3R is the same preamp design as the two-channel HV-3C and the four and eight channel HV-3D.

Description:

The Millennia HV-3D is a four or eight channel, fully matched microphone preamplifier of uncompromising sonic character, technical specification, and mechanical workmanship. The HV-3D offers multiple channels of HV-3B preamplifiers at significantly less per-channel cost.

With circuitry identical to Millennia's acclaimed HV-3B series high voltage microphone preamplifier, the HV-3D offers standard high resolution gain switching (36 steps @ 1.5 dB per step), optional B&K (DPA) 130V mic input option on every channel, DC-coupled input option on every channel for optimizing ribbon and other dynamic mics, a passive summing option, and future options.

Unlike preamps using vacuum tubes, IC function modules, and audio transformers (all of which lend their own audio coloration), Millennia's HV-3 micamp architecture is precisely optimized towards capturing the subtlest detail of music and ambience. With +23 dBu input headroom, the HV-3D requires no input pads or switch points as found on common "textbook" preamp designs - thus avoiding yet another source of sonic degradation. Moreover, with its +32 dBu output headroom, ultra-high dynamic stability and linearity is assured.

2000 TEC Award Nomination

HV-3D signal path from input through output is entirely balanced with a minimum amplifier topology. Uncompromising circuit design with meticulous selection and matching of critical components assures consistently transparent audio performance at all dynamic excursions and frequency extensions. Moreover, standard audio cables over 1000 feet in length have been driven from HV-3 mic preamps with no immediately detectable signal degradation.
