The CharterOak e700 has proven to be a new favorite here at Sound Pure Recording Studios as a general workhorse studio microphone, but it blew us away recently when we tried it on kick drum. It's impressive low end and expressive ability to capture warmth, body, and resonance stole the show on piano, but really impressed us here on kick drum- for that up front, edgy rock kick drum sound, we are liking it even better than the world-renowned kick drum favorite, the Neumann U47 FET for many sounds. This is largely attributable to its huge 1.2" diaphragm, which is a unique capsule, and one you wouldn't first think to try on something like a kick. This is a dry, unprocessed recording through one of our cleanest preamp, a Millennia HV-3R, but it still sounds polished and near finished, even though there is absolutely no EQ or compression on the recording- you wouldn't believe how it can sound once we start to produce the finished kick drum sound. Give it a listen, and let us know what you think. Our recording experts are always here to answer your questions, toll free, anytime, at 888-528-9703.

The Charter Oak E700 Microphone performs beautifully on both also and baritone saxophone on these demonstration videos. The E700 possesses the warmth, and richness you expect from a large diaphragm microphones, but also has a good amount of detail that you would expect from a small diaphragm microphones. The microphone does an excellent job at capturing the full musicality of the instrument as well as the resonance and natural acoustic reverb of the rooms. We tracked with great results both in our very live untreated lobby (an alto sax), as well as within the control of the Sound Pure Studios A tracking room (a baritone saxophone). Be sure and check out the other videos we've made with this amaing microphones including piano, kick drum, guitars (both acoustic and electric), and vocals. It doesn't seem to disappoint no matter where you put it!

The CharterOak E700 is a dual diaphragm FET condenser microphone which employs two 1.22" center terminated, gold sputtered, Mylar diaphragms and pure class A head amp electronics. While this microphone is excellent for universal applications, its rich sound, extremely low noise floor, and build quality make it a particularly excellent choice in the broadcast and voice over environments. The E700 offers cardioid, omni and figure-8 pickup patterns and a two-step sensitivity switch.
The CharterOak E700 is designed, built, quality tested, and delivered to the customer, with the intention of providing the quality condenser microphone. This has been achieved through an extended period of research and development, together with a period of beta testing performed by a select group of musicians, engineers and producers. The end result is an extremely high quality, distinctive sounding microphone. This high standard of quality extends beyond the microphone to the cables, shock mount and protective case of the E700.
