What We Think

Condition: Used, Very Good (some obvious signs of use and tarnish)

Nothing fancy or esoteric about this one, y'all--just the barebones, bonafide, genuine article.  The contrast of the Honduran Mahogany grain in the neck against the gleam of the polished, unengraved nickel is a look all its own but it's the sound of this brand new blast from the past that will keep the guitar out of the case.  This is what happens when National takes a shot at recreating a true vintage sound--bullseye!

Manufacturer's Description from National

The NRP Steel features a steel body but instead of the painted finish of the “B” Series instruments, it boasts a rubbed nickel exterior that gives the guitar a deep, lovely sheen. Just like the original 1930s Nationals, it has flat-cut f-holes and a ribbed sieve-hole resonator coverplate. The Honduran mahogany neck with truss rod is topped by an ebony fingerboard and slotted headstock. And like the B Series NRP guitars, the tone is incomparable, echoing the tone of a vintage National.
