Manufacturer's Description from Lewitt

Lewitt LCT 940 Large-diaphragm Tube/FET Condenser Mic at a Glance:

  • It's both tube and FET
  • This mic's ready for any session
  • A great-sounding, amazingly versatile workhorse mic
  • Stage or studio, there's a Lewitt mic that's perfect for the job
  • It's both tube and FET

If you record professionally, you probably have a shortlist of go-to tube and FET mics. Unless you place both on a source (costly and time-consuming), you have to decide on a capture strategy beforehand. With the Lewitt LCT 940, those days are over. The '940 sports both tube and FET signal paths. You can choose between them or use the rotary potentiometer to mix them in continuously variable fashion. You can see how the hybrid aspect of the LCT 940 opens up massive sonic possibilities for your recordings.

This mic's ready for any session

The Lewitt LCT 940 is loaded. With no fewer than nine polar patterns (omni, broad cardioid, cardioid, supercardioid, figure-8, plus four intermediate patterns), you can control the directivity of the mic's pickup with precision from a dial located on the remote power supply. The supply also gives you control over three pre-attenuation levels and three low-cut settings. The LCT 940 is ready for any session!

A great-sounding, amazingly versatile workhorse mic

Lewitt's LCT 940 sounds great on just about any source: lead and background vocals, drum overheads, woodwinds, brass, piano, acoustic guitar. You name it. And thanks to its 6, 12, and 18dB pads, it's also perfect for capturing raging guitar cabs and kick drums. The '940's nine polar patterns even let you "focus" the mic on the source to reduce unwanted ambient sound. The Lewitt LCT 940 is so versatile, you're definitely going to want one (or two) of them in your mic locker.

Stage or studio, there's a Lewitt mic that's perfect for the job

Since the fall of 2009, Lewitt microphones have made their way onto some of the biggest stages across Europe and America. Combining exceptional clarity and forward-thinking technical innovation at a remarkably accessible price point, these wonderful mics more than rival long-standing industry standards. What's more, the selection runs the gamut from robust dynamic handheld models to top-notch studio condensers. Whether you're looking for something for your next gig or your next recording session, a Lewitt microphone from Sweetwater is an excellent choice.
