What We Think

One of the finest guitars we've ever encountered! This instrument is just dripping with overtones and sustain for days. It's the classic Goodall tone further enhanced by AAA Brazilian and an Adirondack Spruce top. James Goodall has really knocked it out of the park with this one. The setup is perfect. What a joy to play! This guitar is going to make someone really, really happy.

Finger-style Acoustic Guitar Comparison: Goodall OM v. Santa Cruz FS v. Collings OM1Mh

SoundPure Acoustic Guitar Expert, Robinson Earle, compares three unique finger-style acoustic guitars. In this video, we demo the Collings OM1Mh Mahogany guitar, the Santa Cruz FS Finger-style guitar, and a Goodall Traditional Rosewood/Adirondack OM guitar. As you can hear, these guitars are fantastic for finger-style playing, with each different wood type offering its own unique tone and flavor. This comparison doesn't even scratch the surface of the range of guitars we have in stock. Manufacturer's Description from Goodall

The OM is the second model in the Traditional series instruments. It features a smaller, more comfortable to hold body size than the popular dreadnought body shape. Its description is not unlike its bigger brother, the Traditional Dreadnought model.

"When we string up an OM it's hard to distinguish from the Traditional Dreadnought"

Its tone is extremely powerful in the bass and midrange with an emphasis on a broad warmth without lacking treble. The Traditional model features a custom, partial scalloped bracing pattern which produces a bit more 'boominess' in the bass and midrange. The peghead and bridge have been redesigned for a more conservative look and Waverly tuning machines are a standard feature. It is nicely trimmed with a herringbone rosette and herringbone top purfling with a chevron marquetry backstrip. It is especially built for the flatpicker and bluegrass style players.
