The Gibson Murphy Lab ES-335 in Natural is a beautifully aged take on one of the most iconic semi-hollow designs ever created. Its maple/poplar laminate body with a solid maple centerblock delivers a perfect balance of warmth, sustain, and airy resonance, while the unpotted Alnico III Custombuckers provide rich, expressive tones with vintage clarity and depth. The mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard offer a smooth, comfortable feel that invites effortless playing. Finished in a Murphy Lab ultra light aged nitro, it carries a naturally broken-in look and feel. Dynamic, soulful, and expertly crafted, this ES-335 is a true player’s instrument and a smart long-term investment!
The Historic Reissue ES-335 is back and better than ever, thanks to a year of studying, scanning, and listening to original examples. The expert craftspeople at Gibson Custom Shop have rendered every contour, profile, inlay, and color of the priceless vintage models in magnificent detail. The result is a playing and ownership experience that will keep you coming back for more. The 1959 ES™ Reissue models feature rounded cutaways, Medium C-shape neck profiles scanned from originals, dot inlays, and vintage-replica parts. It also features Light Aging by the skilled artisans of the Murphy Lab. The Murphy Lab Light Aged finish treatment, paired with lightly aged hardware, simulates decades of natural play wear, giving it the unique character, vibe, and feel of an original example from the Gibson Golden Era.
Today's Gibson electric guitars represent the history as well as the future of the electric guitar. The models whose designs have become classics-the ES-175, ES-335, Flying V, Explorer, Firebird, SGs and Les Pauls-are a testament to Gibson's wide appeal, spanning more than four decades of music styles. Gibson's close relationship with musicians is manifest in endorsement models from King, Atkins and jazz greats Howard Roberts and Herb Ellis, plus new Les Pauls made to the personal specifications of rock stars Jimmy Page and Joe Perry. In 1994, Gibson's Centennial year, the new Nighthawk model won an industry award for design, setting the stage for a second hundred years of Gibson quality and innovation.
