The Gibson Custom Shop '59 ES-335 is a semi-hollowbody electric guitar with a Nitrocellulose VOS (Vintage Patina) finish, single-ply Royalite binding, and a 5-ply wide bevel black pickguard. Its body utilizes 3-ply maple/poplar/maple construction around a solid maple centerblock with no weight relief. The solid mahogany neck features an Authentic 1959 profile attached via a hide-glue long tenon, an Indian rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays, a 24.75" scale length, a 12" radius, a 1.69" nylon nut, and 22 Authentic Medium-Jumbo frets. Weighing 7 lbs 9 oz, it includes a hardshell case. Electronics consist of dual Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers wired to a 3-way Switchcraft toggle switch and hand-wired CTS 500K audio-taper potentiometers with paper-in-oil capacitors. Nickel-finished hardware includes an ABR-1 bridge with brass saddles, a lightweight aluminum stopbar, amber butyrate top hat knobs, and Kluson single-line, single-ring tuners.
