Recreating period-correct brownface architecture, the Fender American Vintage '62 Deluxe Amp is a 20-watt, all-tube combo amplifier operating at 120V. Its circuit utilizes three 12AX7 preamp tubes, two 6V6 power tubes, and a single 5AR4 rectifier tube driving a single 12" Celestion Custom Design speaker at an 8-ohm total impedance. Signal routing features two distinct channels (Normal and Bright) with four 1/4" inputs (two per channel) and dual 1/4" parallel speaker jacks for internal and external cabinet connection. Built with a solid pine cabinet finished in Fender '60s brown Nubtex covering with wheat grille cloth, physical appointments include brown "cupcake" control knobs, a brown leather handle, and a red LED amplifier jewel, accompanied by an included 1-button footswitch.

Known among players as hidden treasures from the early ’60s, Fender “brown panel” amplifiers are prized for bridging the gap between the raw sound of its ’50s-era tweed-covered amps and the sparkling clean tones of its mid-’60s “black panel” amps, with a distinctive sound all their own.
