Sound Pure's Take
We couldn't be happier with the E8OM! After playing dozens of the traditional series OMs with Adirondack tops, it is a joy to hear this design outfitted with a Sitka top. The warmth and balance of the Sitka is paired wonderfully with the expressive character of the Rosewood back and sides. This combination provides this guitar with tone that is familiar and inviting, but never dull. The guitar responds very well to changes in dynamics but still manages to take quite a lot of volume before breaking up.
Perfect for fingerstyle, strumming, or flatpicking, the OM body shape is one of the most versatile acoustic designs you can find.
From Eastman Guitars
OM
The Orchestra name was given to this model in 1929 in an attempt to entice guitarists in dance orchestras to pick one up and take it to a gig. In more recent years, it has become a go-to instrument for finger pickers, due to its sensitive dynamic profile and subtle tonal properties. It provides a more carefully sculpted sound than a big bodied acoustic.
About Eastman Guitars
When it comes to building a guitar, there is a big difference between assembly and artistry. If history has taught us anything, it is that there is no substitute for skilled craftsmanship. At Eastman, each instrument is given the attention to detail required to ensure that it reaches its maximum potential. Features such as hand-scalloped bracing and precision tap tuning are just two examples of the way we differentiate ourselves. Considering the outward beauty of an Eastman Guitar, it’s often easy to overlook the skill and artistry applied to the inside of such a fine instrument.
