Testament lead guitarist and jazz bandleader Alex Skolnick joins us for a free, up-close guitar clinic in our Durham studio. Seating is limited to 50, so reserve yours.
Alex Skolnick joined Testament as a teenager, while still a student of Joe Satriani, and helped define Bay Area thrash on The Legacy, The New Order and Practice What You Preach. Then he did something few metal players do: he moved to New York, earned a BFA in jazz from The New School and formed the Alex Skolnick Trio.
Along the way he has recorded and toured with Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Metal Allegiance, and written for Guitar Player and Guitar World. He teaches through his TrueFire courses and wrote the memoir Geek to Guitar Hero. He reunited with Testament in the mid-2000s; the band’s 14th studio album, Para Bellum, came out on Nuclear Blast on October 10, 2025.
