Sound Pure's Take
When we got our first C100 we knew we were in love--we love this one even more, if that's possible! The Mahogany back/sides on this non-scalloped beast just bring out more of that warm fundamental, whether you're playing with pick or bare fingers. Sweet and clear with a soft approach, downright fierce when you dig in. So crazy and so gratifying to get all the punch and liveliness from something like the C10 combined with all the meat and low end you'd find in something like the CJ. Anything from the incredibly broad field of Americana music sounds right at home on this. Early Jazz, Country Blues, Bluegrass and more all just take on a new sense of urgency and energy--another inspiring instrument from the good folks in Austin!
From Collings Guitars
As the bigger, bolder cousin to our classic C10 model and the newest body shape in our acoustic line up, the C100 combines parlor-style proportions with the power and volume of a large-bodied instrument. With a nearly 16” lower bout and 4 ¾” body depth, the C100 offers no shortage of solid, low-end response, yet the narrow waist and non-scalloped bracing design provide exceptional balance and clarity typically found only in smaller-bodied instruments. Whether you’re a flatpicker, fingerstyle player, or something in between, the C100 offers impressive versatility and just might be the ideal companion for singer-songwriters looking to fill the room with sound while still leaving space for vocals to shine through.
