What We Think

A dream come true!  This all-torrefied little monster is the medium-bodied instrument you didn't know you needed.  An aggressive, punchy country blues machine and a focused, shimmering rhythm backbone strong enough to keep any singer-songwriter upright through a three hour set--all in one!  The torrefaction process has successively warmed the often uber-crispy response of a brand new Maple guitar while treating the player to a gorgeous look you won't find on anything else out there.

Manufacturer's Description from Bourgeois

Great things happen when the right combination of top surface area, air cavity volume and scale length come together. Shorter and wider than the JOM, and perfectly suited for the 25” scale length, the comfortable and versatile Small Jumbo is our most popular medium sized model. A fat guitar with a shorter scale is an electric player’s crossover dream. This one couldn’t be better for rockin’ that Everly Brothers feel with a nice tight rhythm sound, or for country, country blues, fingerpicking pop, you name it! Rich, clean and loud, with ample presence that fits nicely in the mix--studio or live.

Bourgeois Guitars

About Manufacturer

Bourgeois Guitars are defining the future of vintage tone, combining old-world hand-voicing techniques with modern innovations in design and materials. Built in a ca. 1850s mill in the industrial town of Lewiston Maine, master luthier Dana Bourgeois and his small team of highly skilled craftsman produce some of the finest steel-string instruments available today.

Known for tonal excellence, meticulous craftsmanship and top-notch materials, they are played by six-string luminaries such as Bryan Sutton, Ricky Skaggs, Sean Watkins, Della Mae, the late Doc Watson and countless professional and nonprofessional enthusiasts. Bourgeois guitars have had a prominent role in the American steel-string guitar renaissance for more than two decades, helping shape acoustic music’s most recent rise in popularity.
