What We Think

Condition: Used, Excellent

This Signature JOM from Dana just articulates every note with the utmost eloquence and presidential authority. There's a flurry of overtones swirling around, and the jumbo OM size gives you more projection and volume then you'd ever expect out of a medium sized guitar. The German Spruce is kind to the light and heavy handed, and do I even need to go into the holy grail back and sides - Brazilian Rosewood. This piece has barely been played, and still sounds so open and full. This is a guitar that's value will only go up over time.

Manufacturer's Description from Bourgeois

We call this model the "Signature" for a reason; it highlights many individual design elements that are uniquely Dana's. The DB Signature herringbone is a beautiful purfling, unique to Bourgeois featuring 3 alternating woods from dark to light, creating a naturally alluring pattern that compliments the curly koa binding perfectly. The DB backstrip is a similarly unique and elegant pattern. While it can be ordered in any body wood, this combination of design elements was originally conceived to highlight Madagascar Rosewood back & sides, which Dana was an early proponent of as a worthy Brazilian Rosewood substitute.

The Jumbo OM, or JOM, is an original body style developed by Dana in the late 80's, in response to players' requests for a mid-sized guitar with the balance and clarity of an OM but with a bigger presence. The idea was simple: Start with the OM outline, enlarge it a bit, play around with the curves and deepen the sides. The result is a wonderfully versatile guitar; larger than an OM, smaller than a Dreadnought, capable of handling almost any playing style you can imagine, and equally capable of operating in solo or ensemble situations. Also available as the JOMC, with Dana’s original cutaway.
