What We Think

Condition: Used, Very good

Guitar has some minor scuffs on the headstock and a small ding on neck, pictures of these small blemishes are in the photo gallery.

This lovely OM from Dana Bourgeois is a great small body flattop guitar if you want a smaller body size that still has a fullness to its' sound that will let you keep up with your bandmates! Adirondack and Rosewood provide a very complex tone that responds well to your dynamics, whether using a pick or your fingers! This particular OM from Bourgeois is custom spec'd to have a 25" scale length and will be easy on your fingers thanks to that lesser tension than the standard OM. This is a beautiful example of the great guitars coming out of Bourgeois' shop and is sure to put a smile on your face if you love rich acoustic guitar tone and an instrument that highlights your playing in a magical way! This guitar is ready to tell a story whether you're singing or not!

Manufacturer's Description from Bourgeois

Bourgeois OM

You can think of the Vintage OM as a smaller version of our Dreadnought--or maybe it's the other way around. Because of its characteristic superb balance, clarity of voice, and sustaining top register, the OM is often thought of as the quintessential fingerstyle guitar. It's not surprising, though, that more than a few players appreciate these same characteristics not only for flatpicking but also for a variety of other applications. We scallop both sides of the X brace on our OM. This provides the” looseness” required in a smaller guitar to produce a clear, strong bass response, and power and projection that belies its size.

Bourgeois Guitars

About Manufacturer

Bourgeois Guitars are defining the future of vintage tone, combining old-world hand-voicing techniques with modern innovations in design and materials. Built in a ca. 1850s mill in the industrial town of Lewiston Maine, master luthier Dana Bourgeois and his small team of highly skilled craftsman produce some of the finest steel-string instruments available today.

Known for tonal excellence, meticulous craftsmanship and top-notch materials, they are played by six-string luminaries such as Bryan Sutton, Ricky Skaggs, Sean Watkins, Della Mae, the late Doc Watson and countless professional and nonprofessional enthusiasts. Bourgeois guitars have had a prominent role in the American steel-string guitar renaissance for more than two decades, helping shape acoustic music’s most recent rise in popularity.
