Sound Pure's Take

Everyone loves the Neve 1073's mic preamp and the Neve 1081's more powerful EQ. Vintech has found the prefect combo here with their X81. Utitilizing the same preamp and gain section as in the X73, which is a near perfect mimic of the original preamp of the Neve 1073 modules, this unit also adds a more comprehensive and versatile EQ with the same great Neve sound.

Considering that you can purchase three Vintech x81's and a power supply with a full factory warranty for the price of one single Neve 1073 module (without warranty), we're suprised people still bother. If the classic Neve sound is what you are after, look no further.

The Vintech X73i (Neve 1073) Replica is compared side-by-side an original pair of Vintage Neve 1073's in a scientific mic preamp shootout at Sound Pure recording studios.  For the shootout, The Sound Pure Steinway Concert grand piano was recorded using a matched pair of Peluso P12 Tube microphones (Vintage Clones of the AKG C12 microphone) spaced across the piano's strings.  Each microphones' output was split, one to the Neve and one to the Vintech X73i.  Volume output at identical levels was tested by verifying virtually complete phase cancellation between the two signals when summed together (with one preamp set to phase reverse).  The Vintage clone Vintech X73i blew the minds of the engineers at Sound Pure studios, as the differences between the Vintech and the Neve were imperceptible.  After the listening, the Sound Pure engineers discuss their impressions of the sounds that they were hearing through the studio monitors in the Sound Pure control room.  Sound Pure is a proud seller of Vintech products, and can be reached to answer any questions about the mic pre shootout, or if you'd like the high res audio files for your own listening.  Sound Pure can be reached toll free at 888-528-9703.

The Starlight Nylon is a Thin Body Electric Acoustic Classical Guitar. Starting with a one piece body of Swamp Ash or Honduras Mahogany a sound chamber is created by hollowing out the inside of the body. The sound chamber helps produce some acoustic tone unplugged which allows the player to hear the guitar in practice situations or other settings where plugging in is undesirable and adds a more natural tone when plugged in. Perfect for large band applications or any setting where more volume is needed. The Sonorus Instrument Cable from Vovox is not only the new industry standard for professional recording, but also the entire reason you would have a discussion about what makes one instrument cable different or better than any other.  Using the latest conductor technology, the Sonorus Cable from Vovox raises the bar for high-quality audio production. Flawless design, impeccable quality and a sharp look, are just a few of the items on the list of great things about these stellar cables. Available in varying lengths, Vovox is now offering Sonorus Patch Cables as well, so you can control the quality of your sound at every input. Rarely has there been a reason to suggest the use of a specific cable to  provide such an elevated level of quality, which the Sonorus Cable offers, and which separates it from the pack. We compared a simple chord progression on the guitar, played by SoundPure's own Guitar Expert Ross, using both a standard guitar cable and a Vovox Sonorus Cable, to exemplify the difference in quality that Vovox offers. The new MF-104M Analog Delay Pedal from Moog is more than just an attempt to revisit the now discontinued MF-104 line of Analog Delay Pedals, it is an answer to our prayers, a revelation. Not only does it provide all the same utility of it's predecessors, but takes into account everything that was missing or desired from its' devoted loyalists. 800 MS of Analog Delay, a new 6 Waveshape LFO, complete MIDI control, amazing new capabilities with a Tap Tempo function and the amazing new Spillover Mode all round out this incredible achievement in audio engineering. With the pedal set to Spillover, you can control whether your delay trails continue after bypassing the delay or come to a stop, all completely on the fly. Not to mention, it's all Moog Analog Delay, the best of the best, smother than smooth, beyond comparison to any other analog delay out there. These pedals even utilize the same vintage "Bucket Brigade" chips that were so few in number in the past. CV/Expression Pedal inputs on the rear panel provide hands free control and manipulation of Time, Rate, Feedback, Amount, and Mix. As is the case with all Moogerfoogers, you can connect Moog EP2 expression pedals to any of these CV/Expression inputs to control functions, or connect other Moog Pedals and create entirely new sonic landscapes. The Feedback Insert also provides further utility, if you want to patch in other stomp boxes or outboard effects onto the same line as the delay, opening up even more flexibility with whatever you want to create. This amazing Analog Delay Pedal from Moog will only be available for a short time, don't miss out on your chance to own a piece of Analog history! From Vintech Audio

The "X81 Class A" is a four band version of the X73. It features the same basic equalizer points as the famous Neve 1081 module. Many people love the 1081 for its comprehensive EQ but some feel that its class AB output amplifier lacked the character found in the 1073's Class A output amp. The X81 utilizes the same equalzier designs and class A amps throughout as found in the X73.

Features

- Same basic construction and features as the X73
- EQ frequency adjustments: 5 on lows, 10 on low mids, 10 hi mids, 5 on high mids
- EQ section includes a Hi Q adjustment for each mid range section and a high pass filter
- There is also a DI and an output strength meter

Note: The Vintech x81 requires the Vintech Power Supply Unit, which is not included in this product. The Vintech Power Supply can power up to four individual channel strips, a 473 (four channel unit) and two single channel strips, a 473 and a 609 Stereo compressor, or a variety of other options. Contact us for more information about the Vintech Power Supply Unit.
