What We Think

Condition: Very Good. Small ding near binding. Cooltube Preamp has been replaced once.

Perfect for the singer/songwriter looking for that new acoustic to gig out with! The Cedar/Rosewood combination on the larger body is going to be kind to any flat picker or strummer, regardless of how heavy the hand is. It's harmonically rich, bold, and can articulate well when dug into. Takamine has always been a favorite of the gigging player, and pieces like this are perfect for that.

Manufacturer's Description from Takamine

Extrordinary acoustic performance in a stage and studio ready acoustic/electric instrument. The Supernatural TAN45C NEX is handcrafted in our pro series facility that has been building precision quality instruments over five decades. The underlying theme of the Supernatural series is understated elegance. The gloss finish provides durability and lasting beauty. The look is accented by a genuine abalone rosette and fretboard dot inlays. Gold tuning machines with amber pearl buttons further add to the premium look of the instrument. All Supernatural series tonewoods are hand-selected, premium grade timbres. The solid red cedar top, supported by scalloped X bracing, is voiced to be deep and mellow and responds well to a light touch. An excellent choice for solo or duo performers or singer/songwriters. A solid Indian Rosewood back aids in projection and expands the bandwidth of the cedar top. A pinless bridge makes string changing a breeze. Includes Takamine’s Palathetic™ pickup, known in the industry as one of the most accurate and natural sounding acoustic/electric pickups. The electronic performance package is beyond state of the art with the Cool Tube® Preamp – the first and only tube preamp in an acoustic guitar.

About Manufacturer

Takamine Guitars have over 50 years of history dedicated to innovation and improvement to the art and craft of guitarmaking.

What first began as a small family business has evolved into one of the leading guitar manufacturers In the world, depended upon by some of the best players and biggest names in the music industry.

So what's the deal? Why are there so many Takamine players? We'd like to think that it's because we've earned your respect. Takamine has made technological advancements that have surpassed other guitar makers. Takamine prides itself in their dedication and loyalty to fine luthiership and it is shown through each Instrument the company makes.

Takamine had its early beginnings while guitar playing and music was gaining popularity in Japan during the early 60's. As their business grew they saw the need to develop their skills and attract design and manufacturing talent. One of the most important additions to the company was one Mr. Mass Hirade.

Hirade joined Takamine in 1968, and made great improvements upon design and build quality, and set forth with his staff to energize and strengthen the business. The factory began producing their world class "Classical" that to this day still carry the Hirade name. Through Hirade's dedication and commitment to Takamine, he was able to begin an overseas trading business in 1975. Takamine Guitars were able to reach out to guitar players around the world. Takamine was finally placed in the hands of musicians who had only heard about their great sound and fine craftsmanship.
