What We Think

A take-me-to-the-stage Takamine!  The Boss himself is known for wielding a non-cutaway version of this showman's choice--why pass up the additional upper fret access?  Acoustically and amplified, this thing just punches and cuts in the best way possible.  A "singer's delight," indeed!

Condition: Used, Very Good

Manufacturer's Description from Takamine

With Takamine’s distinctive NEX body style, the P6NC is a singer’s delight, combining the power of a dreadnought with balanced tone that perfectly complements the vocal range. It features a resonant solid spruce top with "X” top bracing for superior balance and articulation, a solid flame maple back and flame maple sides, a convenient Venetian cutaway for easy access to the upper reaches of the fingerboard, and elegant body binding with black and white purfling and mother-of-pearl rosette.

Built with the performer in mind, the P6NC features Takamine’s proprietary CTP-3 Cool Tube™ preamp system paired with the unique Palathetic™ under-saddle pickup for peerless amplified response. The dual-channel CTP-3 provides low-voltage tube tone, variable from bright and brilliant to thick and warm, three-band EQ with semi-parametric midrange, auxiliary input and volume (for use when a second pickup is added), and an onboard chromatic tuner.

Other performance-enhancing features include Takamine’s asymmetrical neck profile – which is slightly thinner on the bass side so that it fits the natural shape of your hand, resulting in a comfortable feel and improved playability. The split bone saddle provides more accurate intonation, while bridge pin positioning optimizes break angle to improve sustain and presence.

Premium design appointments include an ebony fingerboard with ivory binding and mother-of-pearl “snowflake” inlays, a black headcap, gold tuners with pearl buttons, a natural bone nut and gloss brown sunburst finish. The P6NC comes complete with a premium archtop hardshell case.

About Manufacturer

Takamine Guitars have over 50 years of history dedicated to innovation and improvement to the art and craft of guitarmaking.

So what's the deal? Why are there so many Takamine players? We'd like to think that it's because we've earned your respect. Takamine has made technological advancements that have surpassed other guitar makers. Takamine prides itself in their dedication and loyalty to fine luthiership and it is shown through each Instrument the company makes.

Takamine had its early beginnings while guitar playing and music was gaining popularity in Japan during the early 60's. As their business grew they saw the need to develop their skills and attract design and manufacturing talent. One of the most important additions to the company was one Mr. Mass Hirade.

Hirade joined Takamine in 1968, and made great improvements upon design and build quality, and set forth with his staff to energize and strengthen the business. The factory began producing their world class "Classical" that to this day still carry the Hirade name. Through Hirade's dedication and commitment to Takamine, he was able to begin an overseas trading business in 1975. Takamine Guitars were able to reach out to guitar players around the world. Takamine was finally placed in the hands of musicians who had only heard about their great sound and fine craftsmanship.
