The ALL NEW Classic T Pro features: our innovative SSCII (Silent Single-Coil) hum cancelling system, Classic T or SSV pickups, a “Thin-Skin” urethane body finish, tinted satin finished neck with stainless steel frets, and the option of a Maple or Rosewood fingerboard.
When our customers asked for an instrument with all the tone and playability of our Classic T Antique, without the antiquing, we listened, and delivered two great eras of Classic T goodness.
50’s Spec: 2-piece Swamp Ash body with Maple fingerboard on a Maple neck, choice of trans finishes (2 Tone Burst, Trans Butterscotch or Trans White), and single-ply pickguard (Black Bakelite or White).
60’s Spec: 2-piece Alder body with a Rosewood fingerboard on a Maple neck, choice of finishes (3 Tone Burst, Black or Olympic White), and a 3-Ply Parchment pickguard.
A covered SSV humbucker in the neck position is an available option on both the 50's and 60's models.
TONE WOODS
ALDER - One of the most popular guitar body woods of the 1960's, Alder is grown all over the world. Alder is medium to light in weight with soft tight pores. It has a light tan color and sometimes exhibits large swirling grain patterns and rings. Alder is favored by blues and rock players for its strong, clear, full-bodied sound, with beefy mids and excellent lows. Alder is used extensively for guitar bodies because of its light weight and its full sound.
SWAMP ASH - Popular in the 1950's for guitar bodies, Swamp Ash originates from the Southern parts of America, from trees whose root systems are under water. This wood is lightweight and porous. Its color is light with pronounced dark brown grain patterns which makes it ideal for transparent finishes. Popular with country, blues, rock and metal players alike, Swamp Ash is highly resonant and offers a nice balance of pleasant highs, firm lows, and a slightly scooped midrange.
MAPLE - Sourced mostly from the Northern United States and Canada, Maple is commonly used to make necks. Maple has a classic tone, strong in the midrange with a sweet spanky high end.
ROSEWOOD - Being one of the most popular fingerboard woods for guitars, Indian Rosewood is sourced from either India or Bangladesh. It has a thick grain pattern with colors ranging from brown-black, to purple, to red-brown. Indian Rosewood is particularly favored by blues and rock players for its thick, sweet tone. It has an ideal balance of fat lows, warm mids and a sparkling high end presence.
NECK
Each Classic T Pro is equipped with our Even C Medium neck profile. Rolled edges and a 9-12” compound fingerboard radius offers a substantial, yet comfortable shape.
NECK FINISH - The Quarter sawn Maple neck is tinted, then finished in satin acrylic urethane, which provides the smooth feel of natural wood as well as protection from moisture.
FRETS - Every Classic T Pro includes medium stainless steel frets, which offer silky smooth bending and long-lasting playability. Utilizing the PLEK process on each instrument guarantees the best possible string action, ensures optimized playability, and eliminates intonation problems.
ELECTRONICS
The Classic T Pro™ is available in both S/S and S/H pickup configurations.
SSCII (SILENT SINGLE-COIL) - Our proprietary passive 60-cycle hum reduction system has no impact on tone, there are no batteries to change - just transparent noise reduction.
SSV - The SSV is a versatile pickup that combines the warmth of a vintage humbucker with increased clarity and definition. It is wound hotter for more output, increased sustain, and a sweet midrange response.
CLASSIC T - The Classic T pickups are wound to produce a broad range of classic T-style tones. From clean and snappy to warm and punchy with just the right amount of growl, the Classic T Antique is equally at home in a Nashville honky-tonk or on the Sunset Strip. Every Classic T pickup is hand-built, precisely wound (using our proprietary winding process), and features: plain enamel (neck) and a formvar wired (bridge), and specially formulated Alnico V magnets with vintage correct black fiber bottoms.
BODY FINISH - The Classic T Pro uses our “Thin Skin” Urethane finish. Our finishing process provides an unparalleled combination of protection, beauty, and tone. Great care is taken to ensure that the thinnest possible layers of finish are applied. This allows the wood to resonate freely while still providing ample protection. Our state of the art equipment, experienced staff, and uncompromising quality control ensure that no instrument leaves our facility until it meets our demanding standards.
HARDWARE
TUNERS - The Classic T Pro is equipped with staggered locking tuners, which provide improved tuning stability and eliminate the need for a traditional string tree.
BRIDGE - The Wilkinson compensated bridge with brass saddles was chosen for its superior tuning stability, sustain, and intonation performance while maintaining the classic look and vibe of a true vintage instrument.
