From Sony

The Sony C-80 is a premium large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed to bring legendary Sony studio sound to modern recording environments. Drawing inspiration from the iconic C-800G and C-100 microphones, the C-80 delivers exceptional vocal clarity, rich midrange detail, and a polished high-frequency presence that helps performances sit naturally in any mix. Whether recording vocals, voiceover, acoustic instruments, podcasts, or streaming content, the C-80 offers professional-grade fidelity with remarkable ease of use.

At the heart of the C-80 is a specially designed dual-diaphragm capsule that reduces proximity effect and maintains a balanced, natural tone even during close-mic performances. Its carefully tuned 13kHz presence peak adds articulation and air without sounding harsh, while the microphone’s advanced vibration-isolating body construction—derived from Sony’s flagship studio microphones—helps minimize unwanted resonance and self-noise for incredibly clean recordings.

Built for today’s creators and engineers, the Sony C-80 includes practical studio features like a low-cut filter and -10dB pad switch for handling a wide variety of recording situations with confidence. From intimate vocal sessions to acoustic instruments and professional voice work, the C-80 combines vintage-inspired sonic character with modern precision, making it an outstanding centerpiece for any serious studio setup.
