Engineered for extended-range resonance and structural stability, the Martin Grand J-28LSE features a Grand J-14 fret body construction with a solid spruce top, East Indian rosewood back and sides, and non-scalloped X-bracing with progressively scalloped tone bars. Weighing 5 lbs 3 oz, it incorporates a select hardwood neck with a dark mahogany satin finish, carved to a Modified Low Oval profile with a standard taper and joined via a traditional dovetail neck joint at the 15th fret. Designed as a baritone instrument, it boasts an extended 27.5" scale length paired with an ebony fingerboard with a 1 3/4" bone nut, 2 1/4" width at the 12th fret, 21 frets, and Style 28 mother-of-pearl dot inlays. Exterior appointments include a gloss body finish, Style 28 multi-stripe rosette and back purfling, white binding, a black pickguard, and a solid headstock with square taper, diamond volute, and East Indian rosewood headplate featuring a script overlay logo. Onboard electronics utilize a D-TAR Wave-Length Multi-Source system, while hardware features an ebony belly bridge with 2 1/4" string spacing, a compensated white TUSQ saddle on a 16" radius, and chrome enclosed-gear tuners, complete with a ply hardshell case.
