As fortunate as we are to be able to offer (and, of course, play!) the latest and greatest from our esteemed boutique builders, there's nothing like the joy and pleasure you get from playing one of the "old guard" classics. With a voice as dramatic and authoritative as the appointments that announce its presence, you're going to have a hard time keeping this one all to yourself!
*The guitar landed with us a bit dried out but, after a humidification treatment, 5 new frets, and an overall fret dress and setup, she's playing great!

This decked out Dreadnought is the flagship model of the Standard Series. It is the most ornate of all the instruments, featuring hand inlaid pearl on the top, back, sides, and neck. Premium tonewoods and all of the advancements of the reimagined Standard Series such as forward shifted scalloped braces, antique white binding and a high performance neck. The guitar of choice for legends like Gene Autry and Neil Young, it’s the perfect guitar for any discerning collector or musician. Nothing says you’ve arrived like a D-45.

The story behind one of America?s most famous guitars began on January 31, 1796, in Markneukirchen, Germany, with the birth of Christian Frederick Martin, Sr. Born into a long line of cabinet makers, Christian Frederick took up the family craft at the early age of 15, when he left his hometown and traveled to Vienna to apprentice with Johann Stauffer, a renowned guitar maker.
