A near unbeatable value for the professional recording studio, project studio, or a recording studio bedroom, the LaChapell 500CS is a complete 500 series channel strip. Featuring a pristine transformerless solid state preamp, high and low pass filters, full 3-band EQ and VCA compressor in one unit, the 500CS is essentially a 500 series preamp, 500 series EQ and 500 series compressor all in one unit.
Each “half” of the unit can function independently for maximum value and versatility. Track with the preamp, eq and compressor together, then switch to independent mode to use the eq and compressor as an outboard 500 series eq and 500 series compressor.

MASTERING QUALITY EQ
A three band EQ with additional High and Low Pass Filters give flexibility to your tracking and mixing. The transparent mastering grade EQ was designed to minimize phase interactions. It works in series with the preamp, or as a separate 500 series EQ.
FRONT PANEL HI-Z
The front panel Hi-Z input allows the 500CS to be used as an instrument preamplifier. When a 1/4″ jack is inserted into the Hi-Z input, the 500CS switches into instrument mode.
500 SERIES COMPRESSOR
The two knob 500 series compressor (VCA style) on the LaChapell 500CS gives you ratio and threshold controls for flexible but forgiving compression. Select between fast or slow attack and release, and hard and soft knee settings with dip switches on back panel.
TWO IN ONE SPLIT MODULE OPERATION
The 500CS Channel Strip works in series or independently. Use as a 500 series channel strip, or press the Module Split button to use the 500CS as a 500 series preamp in one bay and a 500 seres eq and 500 series compressor in the other bay. Each section can be bypassed also so that you can use just the EQ, or just the compressor.
MULTIFUNCTION VU
An analog VU with function selector gives you great feedback as to what the 500CS is doing. The selector switch allows you to monitor the preamp output, the gain reduction of the 500 series compressor or the master output level.
