This is a 6.5x13 Global Drum Co. snare drum from 2003. It features a beautiful Bubinga segmented drum shell in a natural oil finish.
Segmented drums have been one of our favorites. The brickwork pattern and horizontal grain of segment shells make them more durable and rigid than staves and allow builders and players an opportunity to sample a variety of tone woods. Bubinga is about 50% harder than birch or maple which gives this drum some serious attack. The shell is roughly 3/8" thick and coupled with the denser wood can give you a nice focus at lower dynamics and full-bodied projection at high volumes. This unique snare drum comes with 8 DW satin nickel lugs and the Ludwig Millenium strainer.
If you are looking for a primary or auxiliary snare drum with a lot of versatility, look no further.
