Condition: Used, Excellent. This guitar has aftermarket, upgraded DiMarzio Pickups
SP Luthier Notes: The guitar required an adjustment to the truss rod, nut, and bridge to be brought to a perfect level of playability. A small portion of frets showed evidence of play wear. As such, the frets were leveled, recrowned, and polished back to a near mint state. A portion of the frets were not level with each other requiring them to be leveled, recrowned, and polished into near mint condition. No further work was required.
You know, sometimes a guitar just feels right the moment you pick it up. That's exactly how you'll feel about this Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s in that absolutely gorgeous Sunburst finish with its incredible AAA Flamed Maple top. We didn't just get this in and put it on a shelf; our luthier went to town, meticulously leveling, recrowning, and polishing every single fret to near-mint perfection. We also dialed in the truss rod, nut, and bridge, so this beauty is genuinely set up for maximum playability – no "as-is" here! But what really sets this one apart is the custom electronics: a DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAF in the neck for sweet, vintage-inspired tones, and a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge, ready to unleash thick, powerful riffs. With that classic Mahogany body and neck, this 9.6lb beast is ready to make some serious noise, offering all the vintage soul you crave with modern playability and versatile tones that'll make you want to play for hours.
Today's Gibson electric guitars represent the history as well as the future of the electric guitar. The models whose designs have become classics-the ES-175, ES-335, Flying V, Explorer, Firebird, SGs and Les Pauls-are a testament to Gibson's wide appeal, spanning more than four decades of music styles. Gibson's close relationship with musicians is manifest in endorsement models from King, Atkins and jazz greats Howard Roberts and Herb Ellis, plus new Les Pauls made to the personal specifications of rock stars Jimmy Page and Joe Perry. In 1994, Gibson's Centennial year, the new Nighthawk model won an industry award for design, setting the stage for a second hundred years of Gibson quality and innovation.
