The Aero sports a George Way badge with an art deco-looking cloud shape that contains the snare’s single air vent in its center. It also comes standard with eight single-piece lugs that are an original George Way design. Their clean and elegant appearance gives way to a simple and understated look while providing the structural foundation. It also sports the original George Way “beer tap” style snare throw-off with some modern improvements. The Aero is lively in response and has tremendous dynamic range. The aluminum shell has an understated look and the tone equally compliments throughout multiple tuning ranges. In low volumes, the shell excels with sensitivity and expressiveness. At the louder volume levels, fat backbeat can be achieved without having to hit the drum too hard. If you are looking for a primary snare drum with a lot of class and versatility, look no further.
The George H. Way 14x6.5 Aero Aluminum Snare Drum features an ultra-thin seamless spun shell, streamline casings, 845 snare throw-off, triple flange hoops, AAA chrome plating on all metal parts, and a matte anodized natural aluminum finish. Aluminum shells have a warm tone, with a nice crack and very little sustain.
Ronn Dunnett has acquired the intellectual property rights to the George Way company and is now producing new snare drums with some of the excellent design attributes of the original George Way drums. The strainer is a reproduction of the original strainer that was so simple and effective, and the lugs are the Geo Way Tuxedo style. These drums possess a great vintage "vibe" and a nice, warm articulate sound. Excellent value.
