Inspired by classic vintage single-cut solidbodies, the Eastman SB55 combines artisan French-polish craftsmanship with stripped-down, workhorse utility. Built with a solid one-piece Okoume body and a long-tenon one-piece Okoume neck, it is hand-finished in Eastman's signature thin Antique Varnish, allowing the wood to breathe for exceptional acoustic resonance, fast attack, and lightweight comfort at 6 lbs 14 oz. Electronics feature a single bridge-positioned Lollar 50's Spec Dog Ear P-90 pickup wired through premium CTS 500K potentiometers (with no-load on tone) and Sprague Orange Drop capacitors, delivering raw vintage bite, dynamic clarity, and wide tonal flexibility. Outfitted with a traditional Even "C" neck profile, a 12" radius ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, a Faber TPWC-'59 wrap-around bridge, Gotoh locking tuners, custom Bakelite pickguard, and antique nickel hardware, this boutique slab-body comes complete with a hardshell case.
