What We Think

Condition: Used, Excellent

SP Luthier Notes: Instrument was inspected upon arrival and found to be in excellent playing and cosmetic condition—no work required.

The Dunable Gnarwhal is a no-nonsense modern rock machine with boutique attitude and serious tone to match. Built with a swamp ash body and a smooth satin urethane black finish, it has a punchy, resonant voice that feels alive in your hands. The set-in mahogany neck and sleek ebony fingerboard make it fast, comfortable, and incredibly responsive, while the Dunable Grizzly humbuckers deliver thick, aggressive clarity that stays tight even under heavy gain. Finished off with aged nickel hardware and classic TOM/stop tail stability, this is a rugged, inspiring guitar that plays like a weapon and holds value like an investment. And while it was originally discounted for minor finish imperfections, it remains a killer, pro-level instrument with real character.

About Manufacturer

Dunable Guitars, the brainchild of guitarist Sacha Dunable, was born out of a passion for creating no-nonsense, riff-ready guitars that look like a forgotten gem from the '70s and '80s but are built for today's heavy music.

They've got two killer lines:

  • USA Custom Series: This is the top-tier stuff, hand-built with meticulous care by a small crew in Los Angeles. These guitars are crafted from premium American tonewoods and are fully customizable, making them the ultimate dream machine for any serious player.

  • DE Series: Standing for "Designed & Engineered," this line brings that signature Dunable vibe to a more accessible price point. These guitars are expertly crafted in South Korea, but with the same commitment to quality control and design as their American counterparts. It's the perfect way to get a taste of that heavy-hitting, unique Dunable tone without the custom shop price tag!
