Sound Pure's Take

Condition: Used, Very Good - Some small dings on top, pickguard scratching, one small ding/scratch on neck

It's almost bewildering how some instruments can take the most humble of tonewood combinations and create such an articulate and sought after sound. That is what the Collings OM2H is in a nut-shell. It's Sitka Spruce top and East Indian rosewood back and sides are nothing to write home about on their own, but the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The OM size allows you to flat pick as confidently as you'd strum or play fingerstyle, as it's the true chameleon of the acoustic world. The cutaway only adds more versatility to this instrument and with the Collings name, you can rest assured the build quality is nothing short of spectacular. This OM2H is a jack of all trades, a comfortable instrument to play and the go-to choice for a variety of different scenarios.

From Collings Guitars

'OM' stands for "Orchestra Model," but 80 years after this body shape was first designed it has become the most popular 14-fret model with fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings. Yet flatpickers also find it appealing, and when the graceful cutaway is added these OMs are often used by lead players who routinely explore all 20 frets much as they would on an electric guitar. The compact shape makes the Collings OM equally easy to handle onstage or when sitting on the couch, and the relatively shallow body (barely over 4 inches deep) results in balanced tone and an immediate response.
