When the Carr Sportsman arrived at our door, it did not take long to become the store's favorite boutique combo amplifier. Now in a gorgeous limited edition, the Green Carr Sportsman has just hit our doors! If you're looking for a lower-wattage, Fender Princeton/Deluxe tone with 20 watts, dual 6V6s and fantastic versatility, look no further.
One of our favorite features is the variable headroom control. The master volume helps control the relationship between the preamp and the power amp. Determining where the headroom is set, the volume can be set to break up early or keep things relatively clean as things get louder. Great in both a studio setting or for more headroom on stage.
This amplifier has the ability to attain classic Fender tones with an all-tube, lush reverb and "Vox"-like sparkle, with the addition of the mid control and a versatile tone stack. Carr has another mean and very "green" winner with this colorful Sportsman amplifier!
Fusing the insistent purity of '60s American 1x12 reverb-style amps with the more aggressive dual 6V6 power section of the late '50s, we bring you the Sportsman! Tones ranging from clear and snappy to Texas pushed twang to intercontinental grind are all under the hood of the Sportsman. The combination of Volume, Headroom, and Mid controls puts this tonal palette in your calloused fingertips.
