Sound Pure's Take

The first time I sat down with this one I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand straight up. More than anything else, it was the articulation and balance that got me. No matter how fast I picked it, all the notes remained full, crisp, and perfectly defined. It sounds anything but small. It's a universe unto itself.

The aesthetic is both old and new. It encompasses a whole gradient scale of blonde to brunette. The big leaf maple is some of the finest you'll ever see and the Italian spruce top is warm, complex, loud and beautifully pale. The 13 frets to the body is a nice nod to the "Nick Lucas" Gibsons of yore. The oil varnish finish gives it a vintage glow. Even the side strips inside are stunning.

Sexauer is a master luthier and this is some of his finest work. The post-modern parlor of my dreams.
