Nope, that's not toner on the top--that's age! It's often discussed here in the shop: "what are these phenomenal, new boutique guitars going to sound like when they get old?" Well, if the majesty, responsiveness, and palpable soul of this 2002 Addy/Maddy OM are any indication, the guitar players of the future are in for some truly otherworldly instruments--if you don't feel like waiting, don't!
SP Luthier Notes: (A) Minor dent(s) present on the guitar required our luthier to fill, color match, and refinish the area. The dropfills were done on the back of the heel and the back of the neck of the guitar. The truss rod and bridge were fully adjusted. A complete wipedown and cleaning of this instrument was done. There was a full cosmetic suite of work done to this instrument, and it looks amazing! No further work was required.
A cornerstone of the Bourgeois lineup for decades, the Vintage model features hand selected Sitka spruce and the highest available grade of East Indian Rosewood. Marrying an undeniably vintage aesthetic with modern innovations such as a dual action truss rod and our proprietary detachable neck joint, your guitar is designed to resemble the “pre-war” relics, while maintaining an unparalleled level of playability.
Some guitars have a sweet niche. Few credibly occupy all of them.
The OM is the third largest 14 fret body size in the 0/00/000-OM/JOM-GA progression, and differentiates from the 000 by its 25.5” long scale neck.
Our most popular body size – and probably the second-most popular acoustic guitar worldwide – it’s no coincidence that the “Orchestra Model” appeals equally to fingerstyle players and flatpickers, thanks to its unparalleled combination of balance, presence, power and comfortable playability. It wasn’t always that way. Once relegated to the history books, the OM began a slow resurgence in the mid 1980s after Schoenberg Guitars, co-founded by Dana, teamed up with C.F. Martin to introduce the first production-made OM since the 1930s.
Available with our OM-innovative Large Soundhole option for increased flatpicking performance, and with cutaway and arm bevel options for additional playability and comfort.
