What We Think

The construction of this guitar is incredibly beautiful to behold in person and if you're a fan of vintage flat top guitars but want something extra special for your collection that will play, sound, and look great then consider this DB signature OO from Dana Bourgeois! We've got a great looking German Spruce top (with Bearclaw!!!) and BRAZILIAN rosewood on the back and sides on this instrument, paired with the curly koa binding and you've got a guitar that you might take a bit to play thanks to how great it looks! The sound here is rich and focused and suits just about any style of playing but the small body and short scale combination of this OO definitely make me want to sit down and play fingerstyle. The DB signature package is always something I love seeing on Bourgeois guitars as it is a very classy upgrade that will wow non players with its' elegance from afar and also play like a dream for you, the musician!

Manufacturer's Description from Bourgeois

We call this model the "Signature" for a reason; it highlights many individual design elements that are uniquely Dana's. The DB Signature herringbone is a beautiful purfling, unique to Bourgeois featuring 3 alternating woods from dark to light, creating a naturally alluring pattern that compliments the curly koa binding perfectly. The DB backstrip is a similarly unique and elegant pattern.

About Manufacturer

Bourgeois Guitars are defining the future of vintage tone, combining old-world hand-voicing techniques with modern innovations in design and materials. Built in a ca. 1850s mill in the industrial town of Lewiston Maine, master luthier Dana Bourgeois and his small team of highly skilled craftsman produce some of the finest steel-string instruments available today.
Known for tonal excellence, meticulous craftsmanship and top-notch materials, they are played by six-string luminaries such as Bryan Sutton, Ricky Skaggs, Sean Watkins, Della Mae, the late Doc Watson and countless professional and nonprofessional enthusiasts. Bourgeois guitars have had a prominent role in the American steel-string guitar renaissance for more than two decades, helping shape acoustic music’s most recent rise in popularity.
