Sound Pure's Take
A modern day holy grail! This guitar proves the importance of that crucial combination of imagination and a fantastic ear--Dana Bourgeois has both, in addition to an absolute mastery of his craft and worldclass stock of tonewoods. The large soundhole and Banjo Killer bracing alone put the guitar into a realm of articulate power that few instruments inhabit. With the inclusion of torrefied Adirondack and a gorgeous set of Brazilian, well, now we're talking about a whole new world of acoustic perfection, population 1. And while it's an absolute powerhouse capable of room-filling volumes, the D is in equal measure complex tonally...a musical voice as wise as it is strong. Dana's trademark balance is here, too--you won't find prejudice for any one section of the dynamic spectrum here. We wager you just won't flatpick a better guitar...after you get your hands on this one, you won't want to pick anything else, period!
From Bourgeois Guitars
Our most popular model, the square shoulder pre-War style Dreadnought delivers ample power to cut through any performance situation. Featuring Dana's unique, single-scalloped X brace system, our Dreadnought has become a bluegrass classic, offering a blend of balance and clarity absolutely required for flatpicking, highly desirable for most other styles of playing, but rarely found in a contemporary dreadnought.
