What We Think

Condition: Used, Excellent

Hands down the most impressive dreadnought we've seen from Bourgeois, period.  This is the kind of magic that can only happen in the custom shop, and may not happen ever again.  Brazilian of this caliber, hand-rubbed varnish, hide glue construction, and everything else about this instrument come together to create something that could only be rivaled by pre-war guitars in flawless shape, if that.  Try to imagine a cathedral full of bells that weighs less than that old Yamaha you learned your first chords on...you're starting to get there!  The guitar is in total agreement with itself, too.  That profound bass response never interferes with nuance in the upper registers.  The overtone content coalesces in a way that will give you chills.  Put it this way--the original owner knew that something like this needed a custom-fit case.  A superlative set of specs, a superlative maker, fantastic condition, and a used price tag, all in one.  Call us up now before this holy grail of a guitar ends someone else's lifelong quest for acoustic gold!

About Manufacturer

Bourgeois Guitars are defining the future of vintage tone, combining old-world hand-voicing techniques with modern innovations in design and materials. Built in a ca. 1850s mill in the industrial town of Lewiston Maine, master luthier Dana Bourgeois and his small team of highly skilled craftsman produce some of the finest steel-string instruments available today.

Known for tonal excellence, meticulous craftsmanship and top-notch materials, they are played by six-string luminaries such as Bryan Sutton, Ricky Skaggs, Sean Watkins, Della Mae, the late Doc Watson and countless professional and nonprofessional enthusiasts.
