What We Think

Like having an orchestra at your fingertips!  The combination of a deep body, wonderful set of Madagascar rosewood, and an aged tone Addy top come together to give this OM a voice that's as commanding as it is complex.  The huge bass response you get is still reined in from boom-ier territory by the fundamental balance the OM body style provides.  Mids are scooped out just enough to fold them cleanly into the mix; highs benefit, as always, from the warmth and openness Adirondack attains through the aging process.  While this piece has a fundamentally dark tonal quality, the strength of the overtone content coupled with naturally strong reverb and sustain lend a 3-dimensional "body" to anything you play.  This is the kind of guitar that seems to create an atmosphere of its own as you play it...an excellent sonic compliment to the mesmerizing Madagascar grain pattern on the sides!  Call us up today and get this spellcaster all to yourself!

Manufacturer's Description from Bourgeois

You can think of the Vintage OM as a smaller version of our Dreadnought--or maybe it's the other way around. Because of its characteristic superb balance, clarity of voice, and sustaining top register, the OM is often thought of as the quintessential fingerstyle guitar. It's not surprising, though, that more than a few players appreciate these same characteristics not only for flatpicking but also for a variety of other applications. We scallop both sides of the X brace on our OM. This provides the” looseness” required in a smaller guitar to produce a clear, strong bass response, and power and projection that belies its size.

About Manufacturer

Bourgeois Guitars are defining the future of vintage tone, combining old-world hand-voicing techniques with modern innovations in design and materials. Built in a ca. 1850s mill in the industrial town of Lewiston Maine, master luthier Dana Bourgeois and his small team of highly skilled craftsman produce some of the finest steel-string instruments available today.

Known for tonal excellence, meticulous craftsmanship and top-notch materials, they are played by six-string luminaries such as Bryan Sutton, Ricky Skaggs, Sean Watkins, Della Mae, the late Doc Watson and countless professional and nonprofessional enthusiasts. Bourgeois guitars have had a prominent role in the American steel-string guitar renaissance for more than two decades, helping shape acoustic music’s most recent rise in popularity.
