Overview:

Professional podcasters, singers, and voiceover artists take notice—the Apogee Electronics HypeMiC is a studio-quality microphone in a USB form-factor, one that provides professional sound thanks to its studio-quality analog and digital components. Exceedingly easy to use, its cardioid polar pattern helps you sound great even in an untreated room, and requires no external drivers to operate. Simply plug it into your Mac, Windows, or iOS device, open up your favorite recording software, and you'll be ready to record.

This microphone provides a professional sound on both the analog and digital fronts. To do this, the HypeMiC utilizes both a built-in preamp and an analog compressor to ensure a record-ready sound for the live-streaming age. The HypeMiC can handle sample rates and resolutions up to 96 kHz / 24-bit with A/D conversion. The HypeMiC ships with a pop filter, tabletop tripod stand, mic-stand adapter, carrying case, USB cables, and a Lightning cable.

Built-In Analog Compression for Vocals and Instruments

The mic offers an integrated microphone preamp and a built-in analog compressor with three selectable presets, each optimized for applications such as music production, live streaming, and broadcast. These features are a boon for live-streaming, so you can sound polished as you create content on the spot. The mic's varying compression levels bring a smoothness and warmth to instrument recording, providing greater clarity and detail when recording loud acoustic instruments from drums to horns to choirs.

Compression Settings

Low: The minimal amount of compression, great for shaping the vocals and instruments in your music recordings.

Medium: Great for podcasts, interviews and streaming when you want to squeeze a little more pop out of your voice.

High: Great for voice recording when you really want to smash it for that big broadcast sound.

Fits Your Setup

Geared towards podcasters, singers, musicians, or anyone else seeking a stellar sound with minimal setup, the HypeMiC works with Macs, PCs, and iOS devices, giving you a consistently great sound every time.

Cardioid Polar Pattern for the Untreated Room

The microphone makes use of a directional cardioid polar pattern to minimize off-axis sound. This polar pattern naturally, yet effectively tamps down room tone and focuses the audio capture on what's directly in front of the mic. Depending on your particular room, you may still need a little room treatment or some noise-reduction software, to address issues such as your computer's hum or your air conditioner; but the chances of that are markedly lower with a cardioid polar pattern.

Built-In Zero-Latency Monitoring

Monitor your levels with headphones plugged directly into the mic's 3.5mm connection, and use the Blend function for zero-latency monitoring with your processed tracks.

Simple Controls

On the control side, it offers a prominent gain knob for easy adjustments, and a handy push-to-mute button as well. The mic also offers multicolor LEDs to indicate status, input level, compression, and Blend mode.

Professional Audio Capture

This USB mic boasts a 96 kHz / 24-bit converter, one made by one of the best hardware DSP companies in the business. You'll be able to record audio with the same specifications as a professional recording studio.

No Configuration Required

Class-compliant design means all you have to do is plug the mic into your computer or iOS device—no driver downloads are required. The mic is bus powered from your computer or iOS device.

Included Hardware

The HypeMiC includes with a pop filter, tabletop tripod stand, mic-stand adapter, carrying case, USB cables, and a Lightning cable, so you can get it up and running out of the box with any computer or iOS setup.

Multi Mic Recording, Made Easy

First Take is a macOS multichannel recording application perfect for podcasting or saving musical ideas, providing easy plug-and-play use with up to 4 Apogee USB mics. This means you can start out a podcast and grow, adding hosts and guests, without having to change your setup.

Hear What You've Recorded Instantly

Enjoy the convenience of simultaneously creating a stereo mix of your recording plus individual files for each connected microphone. First Take gives you total control over the editing process for postproduction work.
