Sound Pure's Take

Weight: 7.4 lbs.

Wow, this Icon Classic is a stunner! Once you've gotten a load of the sparkly Egyptian Gold finish, settle in and start playing this perfectly balanced guitar. Its caramel maple neck is smooth and supple, allowing for effortless movement up and down the rosewood fingerboard. Work your way through each of its five pickup positions and delight in delicious spank, twang and chime with the added bonus of Anderson's passive VA boost via Volume knob push/push switching. This guitar sounds every bit as good as it looks!

This guitar is the total package. The moment she's in your hands the even tapered maple neck just feels like home. The satin finish on the Translucent Surf Green is tasteful as can be and really lends itself to the more traditional and vintage look. The modern enhancements you'd expect from an Anderson are there as well with the likes of autosplitting position 4, split 5, and the VA Boost with Push/Pull switching. The swamp ash body gives you all the bright bite you'd want in a s-style guitar and with such a masterful build the product that's left is just incredible. This guitar is available for SoundPure's Try-Before-You-Buy Program, so if you want to hear how it sounds with your gear, shoot us an email at Electrics@SoundPure.com or call us anytime at 919.682.5552. From Tom Anderson Guitarworks

Icon Classic

Magnificence in playability is an undeniable requirement for complete guitar fulfillment—the very foundation of every Anderson guitar—unparalleled playability.

But for some players, bringing forth their vintage vision also requires iconic styling cues—most notability, the inclusion of:

Three numbered knobs, a top jack, full-sized S-body and 1 rear strap button.

In the past the dilemma has been: How can I possibly give up pristine Anderson playability, full Major 3rd bends and ridiculously rich, multidimensional chording that rings out so wonderfully in tune?  Playing an Anderson Guitar is like nothing else—to be sure.

So, so good!

But…when no one is looking and I close my eyes I sometimes still see myself as a vintage rocker.  Why must I give up one for the other?  In this day in age of "cake and eat it too,” there must be a way.

And the answer is now: Icon Classic

Icon Classic is the S-body Anderson with:

  • Full-sized S-body

  • 3 numbered knobs—1 volume and 2 tone—wired for full-function, given this layout.

  • Top Jack

  • 1 Rear Strap Button
  •
  • Satin Finishes—smooth and lavish in a vast array of color choices (a break-through satin finish process)

No trepidation remains for the fashion conscious vintage player—just flat-out Anderson performance hemmed by a vintage vibe now hailed as:
