Winter NAMM 2016, Tom Anderson Guitarworks displayed a gorgeous blue quilted maple top Drop Top that won the eyes of many attendees and social media folks. When we saw the picture, we knew we had to order this "Deep Bora Bora Blue" finish for the shop. Open the case and your eyes will be glowing in no time. Just, WOW.
With all Anderson's, this one features plenty of tonal options and switching capabilities to keep you up playing through all hours of the night. After all, we won't tell anyone if this one gets a spot in your bed, either. It's that good...

Drop Top - Introduced to guitar design by Anderson over 20 years ago, Drop Top is characterized by its beautiful exotic wood top that is "dropped" or bent to create a swooping and comfortable forearm contour. Oh yes, this is the guitar that started it all!
Before Drop Top, the number of S-style guitars that had a maple top and were “dropped” or swooped over to create a comfortable forearm contour were exactly...0.
But with the introduction of the magnificent Drop Top in 1990, all that changed. The “S” instrument could now have it's full body contours, be a thing of astounding beauty and have prodigiously rich and spectacular sound—eminating from ample amounts of tone wood backing an exotic wood top—all together in one instrument for the very first time.
However, there is quite a "magic formula" for getting all of this just exactly right and Anderson has it down. Results may vary outside the Anderson "universe."
Over the years, we have come to unlock even greater secrets of tone for the Drop Top and it is truly more spectacular than it has ever been. Now we offer Drop Top with 4 different choices of tone-wood back—all of which are so impressive that all of your non-Anderson playing friends will not only stare at you in constant envy but will want to play your guitar every chance they get-—which is every time you are magnanimous enough to let them.
