Sound Pure's Take

Anchor's Galleon series is an affordable option into the world of custom drums. The heart of this drum features a 7 ply maple shell. It has a very natural and resonant sound that really packs a punch when hit hard. The sleak strainer, the Beavertail lugs, and flanged hoops married together give this drum high end features and sound. The depth of the shell makes it easy to bring the tuning down and get a nice thud type of sound, but tuned it up high the sound has lots of attack and full bodied tone with warmth.
If you are looking for a beautiful looking and sounding snare drum with the versatility to work in the studio and the clarity and projection to cut live then this Anchor Snare is an option you should definitely take a look at.

From Anchor Drums

The Galleon is our flagship line and set the look for Anchor Drums. I have always had a love for the warm, smooth, boomy sound of 60's kits. This is my take and version on that sound. It uses CNC machined Aluminum lugs and Stainless Steel inserts. Single hole mounting and small footprint lets the shell resonate to it's fullest, plus gives the drums a very bold classic look.
