Cables matter, period. Especially when it comes to your snakes. When the connections between your expensive outboard gear and your computer are cheap and unreliable, you simply cannot expect a professional sounding final product. Stop pretending that there is no difference between the cheap junk cables that you paid a couple dollars for. You have come to Sound Pure for great gear and great advice, and there’s no reason to compromise on the core infrastructure that interfaces this great gear you are acquiring. In many cases you have to grit your teeth, close your eyes and hand over that credit card, because cables are not the most glamorous aspect of a recording studio. Nevertheless, no matter how strong your outboard gear collection is, and no matter how vast your microphone locker, if you don’t make an appropriate investment in your cables (from mic cables, interconnects, and even digital cables), you are not only doing yourself a great disservice, but you are actually harming and liming your studios potential. This is not something that you want to overlook. There’s a reason Sound Pure wired their entire studio which consists of miles of cable with Mogami. We’ve conducted (and continue to conduct) numerous listening tests, comparisons, and technical research on the cables we represent and the new cables that are hitting the streets. Call us, and we can gladly discuss the equipment in your studio, and any cables that you may be considering. We’ve all tried the cheap cable thing, and it’s not just in your head, you CAN hear the difference. There’s really no comparison between two identically high-end equipped where one of the two went cheap on the cables- you can hear the improved signal to noise ration, the dynamic range, the stereo imaging, and WHOA the detail. Let’s talk cable, give us a call. Take our word for it- we put our own money where our mouth is when we built our own commercial recording studio, so call us to discuss why we did what we did, and where you should get started with your upgrades to hear the biggest differences in your recordings and playbacks the soonest.
