In this Expert Advice video, Sound Pure Pro Audio Specialist Ted G. walks us through a great alternative for recording electric guitar, when you don’t have access to a huge studio or mic locker or need the flexibility of tweaking your audio extensively after recording. By using a load box such as the Torpedo Reload, the Suhr Reactive Load, the Kemper Profiler, or the Universal Audio Ox, you can take the sound from your guitar amplifier directly into your digital audio workstation (DAW). The way a load box works is that it takes the load off of your amplifier so that it doesn’t have to be plugged into a speaker cabinet when it’s powered up. Load boxes give you the ability to simulate cabinets, speaker choice, microphones, mic placement, and other parameters, so they provide both ease at the time of recording and flexibility after recording.

Different makers have different plugins and options, so give us a call at (919) 682-5552 if you want to compare and find the right one for your particular needs. We’re here to help.
