The Constantinople line of cymbals from Zildjian was designed to recreate the feel, look, and the sound of the Turkish made Zildjian Keropes. With a few different sizes and weights available, the Constantinople series delivers that sound and feel for modern players.
Wide lathing and heavy hammering create unique snowflakes allowing players to fine-tune their ideal sound. Each cymbal brings a new dynamic to the player's toolbox. Whether you choose to play these as ride cymbals or crashes, the Constantinoples provide dynamics and dark lush tones not available in most modern cymbals.
This 22" Medium Thin ride cymbal, at 2449 grams, has the familiar wobble when played at a moderate sticking with nice crashability. The bell has nice definition without getting in the way of everything and plays well with other cymbals. This item is here on consignment and was well kept.
Plenty of give, texture and "crashability." Combination of top articulation and bottom spread provides excellent stick articulation. Lower in pitch.
K Constantinople cymbals speak with the dark warm sound associated with Zildjian cymbals made in Turkey in the first half of the 20th Century. "Old Ks" first resurfaced during the 1950s and 1960s in set-ups of bebop era vanguard drummers like Elvin Jones.
K Constantinoples are hand-lathed by skilled artisans using old-style cutting tools. Pits and other surface impurities, that modern finishing processes remove, are retained, preserving the original tonal quality.
