What We Think

Zildjian’s A Avedis series of cymbals are a throwback to the Zildjians of the 1950s. Handcrafted in Zildjian’s factory in Norwell, Massachusetts, this series pays homage to cymbal sounds of days gone by. Each cymbal receives vintage-style lathing to give you smooth response and an outstanding played-in feel. Weights vary among the different models and let you select your signature sound. Relatively new for Zildjian, the gram weights for individual cymbal are written underneath the bell. Each cymbal receives a patina finish that adds warmth while making the cymbal appear decades old. If you find yourself yearning for vintage sounding cymbals, look no further. The Zildjian A Avedis bring the classic sounds with modern build techniques and quality you've come to expect from Zildjian.

Manufacturer's Description from Zildjian

These handcrafted cymbals look as they sound – rich, dark, and complex. Reminiscent of cymbals from the 50s and 60s yet distinctly modern and relevant for today’s music, Avedis cymbals further solidify Zildjian’s place as the originator of the authentic sound. Highly crafted cymbals that draw their inspiration from the very best cymbals in the Zildjian vault. We carefully studied every nuance of decades-old cymbals -- their bells, profiles, hammering, lathing, tapers, and weights to achieve an old world look and sound being sought after by so many artists today.
