This Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute snare did just that with us, which is why it was our go-to snare drum in our Grammy-nominated recording studio for so many years. Because Yamaha has phased out their Absolute Maple shells in favor of Absolute Hybrid Maple, we must reluctantly let this snare drum go, as we cannot offer any others like it to our recording artists who fall in love with its tone.

The six-ply, all-maple shell offers a well-rounded frequency response, allowing this drum to respond well across a wide range of tunings. The die-cast hoops help to focus the sound, giving this drum a quick attack, while still maintaining a warm and throaty timbre from its shell. 

This drum ships out with a coated Ambassador batter head (complete with our overtone dampening tape) and an Ambassador snare side head. Keep these heads to achieve the sound that became our studio's standard for so many years, or swap them out with your favorite head combination to add your own sound to this beloved snare.
