Years before the Live Custom kits made their debut, Yamaha offered drummers a new tonewood choice with the revolutionary Oak Custom drum sets. Yamaha was one of the first mass-production drum companies to make 100% oak shells, and drummers the world over quickly took note of the wood's incredible tone. Oak is an incredibly hard and dense wood, meaning that it has a strong fundamental note and high volume ceiling. These qualities make it an excellent choice for rock drummers looking for an alternative to birch. Additionally, these drums have an exceptional tuning range and ability to handle widely dynamic playing. This particular 5pc kit comes in standard rock sizes, but it can handle any funk, fusion, or R&B gig just as well. This used set of drums is in very good condition, with some minor nicks and scratches in the clear coat.
