What We Think
One of the most iconic and recorded drum sets of the 1980s is the Yamaha Recording Custom. This consignment set dates back to 1988 and 1989. Given its age, the drums are in good condition with the classic Cherry Red finish.
The thin birch shells coupled with the deeper toms are magical. All toms feature the YESS mounted on the shell and have had new heads installed within the last year. The chrome is clean and shows no sign of pitting.
The finish has some bumps and bruises with some light touch ups done to a couple of spots on bass drum hoops and a spot on the 10" tom. The bass drum has a couple of light surface scratch spots on the top where the previous owner used to lay spare sticks. See photos. Given their age, they are in great condition for a player's set. Included with the set are tom holders but no stands. One set is the long arm version and the second is the shorter version.
