Manufacturer's Description from Upton Mics

The Upton C12 microphone is based on the classic AKG C12 condenser microphone. It features all point to point wiring, the Upton ck12 capsule and a choice of either our T14 transformer or our slightly larger variation on this transformer

The Upton CK12 is a faithful reproduction of the classic AKG CK12 capsule. The CK12 is considered by many to be one of the greatest microphone capsules ever produced. We spent over 3 years developing our manufacturing and tuning techniques in order to bring this capsule to market. It is entirely manufactured in the USA in our own machine shop and assembly facility.

About Manufacturer

Upton microphones has been developing the manufacturing, assembly and tuning process of the famous AKG CK12 capsule for about the last three and a half years. They have also been developing manufacturing and assembly processes on the two most famous microphones that utilize this capsule, the AKG C12 and the Telefunken Ela M 251. They make all of their own parts for these microphones in their own machine shop, and wind their own transformers for the mics.
