The original Royalist was the first Tone King amp to offer the best elements of British tone and was one of the company’s most beloved amps. The new Royalist MKIII is a 40-watt, two-channel, all-tube head that expands on that legacy by faithfully reproducing the iconic British tones of that era ranging from the sweet, singing JTM45, to the iconic “Plexi” sound, all the way to the raging “Super Lead”. The Royalist MKIII authentically captures the vintage nature of these iconic amplifiers, delivering tones that span from clean to edge-of-breakup, to the bright-crunchy leads found on countless classic rock tracks that helped shape music history. The built-in Iron Man II attenuator on each of the channels features a tuned reactive load and special compensation circuitry that allows the power tubes to be fully driven, yet only allowing a fraction of the volume through the speaker.
The Royalist 212 is a rear-ported 2x12”, closed-back extension cabinet designed to perfectly match the Tone King Royalist MKIII. At the heart of the cab are two custom Celestion "1660" 12” speakers with detailed and complex overtones, a warm low-end, rich vocal mid-range and detailed top-end. This Royalist cab reveals every nuance of the wide tonal complexities found in the Royalist MKIII amp. The power and thump of the "1660" speaker makes the Royalist cab ideal under ANY amp head. The closed back design delivers a focused sound that is simply massive. As with all Tone King speaker cabinets, the Royalist 212 is built in the USA and uses a sturdy tongue and groove Baltic Birch construction with oversized 12-gauge speaker wire soldered between the speaker and terminal, assuring you capture every ounce of valuable tone.
