Give your fretting hand a break with this smooth-as-butter 12-string! Taylor's trademark playability is ideal here, as getting control of the neck is not nearly the task it can be on many 12-strings. With that added ease, you'll find that the right hand is free to explore more complex attacks--not to say this thing doesn't sound fantastic with straight-ahead strumming! The Ovangkol on the back and sides, aside from being a sustainable tonewood, combines great qualities from both Rosewood and Koa with the result being great definition across the whole dynamic spectrum with a slight emphasis on the warmth and brightness of the midrange and treble. Overtones are a given with instruments like this, but the Ovangkol also offers a nice, strong fundamental emphasis, keeping that wonderful wash of harmonics clean and crisp. Don't miss out on this comfortable road into the expansive, rolling territory that comes with an extra 6 strings!
