Sound Pure's Take
This Tama Starclassic Performer Charcoal Elm Burst snare drum is the perfect complement to a Limited Edition of Charcoal Elm Burst sets for 2017. As with the sets, this snare drum is also limited a total 25 snare drums. The Tama Starclassic Performer Birch Bubinga brings the strength of birch and the sonic richness of Bubinga into one hybrid package. This hybrid tone creates a new sound for all players to enjoy without breaking the bank. The Starclassics are outfitted with die-cast hoops, your tuning will be more consistent, your snare will have a crisper attack, and powerful rim shots. This limited edition will only be around for a little while so grab it while you can.
From Tama
For more than 30 years, the distinctive, traditional sound of birch has made it the go-to choice for numerous pro drummers. Now, TAMA takes birch in an entirely new direction. Proportionately melding inner plies of Bubinga with the classic birch exterior, TAMA has created a blended shell that combines the focused attack of birch, with the enhanced low-end of bubinga—delivering totally a new sound—both dynamic and versatile.
Starclassic Performer B/B snare drums combine the classic tone of thin birch for the outer layer of the shell with new, heavy-duty African Bubinga for the inner shell. The use of the thicker, harder Bubinga accentuates birch's distinct tone and projection. The combination of the two creates a more powerful, deeply rounded sound like no other!
